A top the Acropolis lies the Erechtheion. The Erechtheion could not be dedicated to just one deity, different parts of the temple became associated with 3 gods, Athena, Athenian king Erechtheus, and the god of the sea Poseidon. The female figures that serve as the architectural support for the structure of the building are called Caryatids, also know as "the maidens of the porch".
